Big Night For The Bridge

Moore Engineering Murray Bridge Speedway fires back into life this weekend with the running of the Formula 500 King of the Bridge, Lightning Sprints Des James Memorial, LMC Products $1,000 to Win Wingless Sprints, Super Sedans and 360 Sprintcars.
The 360 Sprintcar Challenge has attracted 20 cars in the last hit out before their Australian Championship at the venue in two weeks time. Australian Champion Ryan Jones heads the field which also includes Shannon Barry, Craig Vanderstelt, the Hendys and Burfords, Darryl Wright and a trio on Territorians including Alan Barlee, Jason McIver and Nick Halkitas.
The Formula 500s have attracted a class 15 car field including Ash Hicks and Jock Baker from Victoria joining a strong South Australian contingent, while 15 Lightning Sprints are also nominated including new state Champion Brendan Quinn.
The Wingless Sprints will race for $1,000 to win thanks to LMC Concrete Products with 16 cars entered.
Murray Bridge local Mason Merritt, Broken Hill resident Brendan Guerin, Adelaide hard chargers Cory Hodgson and Todd Wigzell will lead the charge, while Alan Barlee will be doing double duty in the wingless and winged categories, driving the SA 15 wingless car. Last week’s Speedway City winner Scott Bogucki will also be keen for his second feature win.
Super Sedans round out the 22 event program with 11 cars nominated including Neville Hall, Stevie Stewart, Dan Miller, Steve Vaughan, Gil Worthley and Tasmania Mick Bagorski.
